Table of contents

General

The first version of the site (later decided to be named as Moposite) was created in the beginning of the year 1998. The first news was written on the 24th April 1998. On the 5th of May px announced that the site has reached the magical 200 visitors limit after being up for 11 days. Four days later there were already over 300 visitors and six days after that we had reached 500 visitors. To get to 1000 visitors, only 32 days were needed. This was a very nice start for the new site.

About one year later px had made and published the next version of the site. At that time the site was definately the best and most popular Across site out there. The success was deserved. px was first to have contests on a web site, also the total time idea was his (since Across lacks the total time counter feature). The legendary World Cup also was running on his page. All this got even Balázs' attention and since then the co-operation between the game author and Moposite has existed.

Then Elma was released. px had already lost the top of his enthusiasm, the site was also growing too big for him to handle alone. Anyway he made a new site for the Elma and Across. At the same time Abula had bought a computer and designed his first Elma site. px saw, that Abula might have some potential and asked him for the co-operation.

px visited Abula's home and they had serious talks about the future of the sites. Unexpectedly Abula had already started designing the second generation layout. And then they decided to merge their works: px's contents and Abula's layout. The end result is known as the first green Moposite.

Site updates and new versions of the site appeared frequently. Seemed like Abula really had some potential. The new versions didn't really have anything radical. Just new sections, better coding and systems to decrease the needed work to do updates. You know, in the past even total times and average records were calculated manually with Excel.

In 2002 a guy named Viper_KillerGuy contacted Abula and offered some help. He claimed to be good in PHP and SQL which both could help maintaining the site and even offer new features. For his first task he coded the Kuski gallery. Quite soon after that Abula and Viper_KillerGuy started making a totally new site: Paprika. The standards set for Paprika are high and we are very proud of it. Almost all of the information on the site has been rewritten to be more easily readable, and also alot of new contents has been created for the site. Paprika was published almost two years after beginning of the project (in March 2006), right after the basic features were functional, although when published, the site only contained some of the most important sections.

Occasionally there have been some off-peaks due to compulsory army services, schools, works and other interests. But never has the site been in total decadence.

The future is up to the new versions of the game although the current future plans are roughly forecasted. A few years ago Jeppe said that he won't quit playing until Moposite gets closed. Abula's response was: That won't happen before 2050.

April fools

Moposite april fool tradition started in the year 2001 by MUe and every year we have fooled quite many people. Unfortunately we missed the year 2004. Have a good laugh but watch out, maybe next year you will be get fooled!

2001

MUe sent a picture of the Elma arcade game in Hungarian video game hall.

Elma arcade game

2002

At first it was this:

Balazs told us he won't make any new versions and therefore
we don't see any point to keep on this shit. Get a life, HAHA!
- Abula & PeXi

...but it was edited later to a little bit more believable form:

It's over now.
Moposite is closed, keep the scene alive, we stopped.

Min replays - at 21:01 EET by Abula
We decided to publish the first five replays: download them and enjoy.

Min times - at 0:16 EET by Abula
A russian Elma player, CandErz, has programmed a software which calculates the theoretical minimum times of the levels. It uses some kind of Euler algorithms which are very efficient in this kind of processing. There is also set a limit value (0.84) for the bug bounces.

CandErz also showed me how to generate the replays of the times. He didn't want to carry on the responsibility of ruining the game so I'm the first one generating them. I have the program running all the time on background, seems like it takes approximately 24 hours so be sure to check out Moposite later. I won't watch the replays nor upload to Moposite if the majority don't want. Please tell your humble opinion on the Mopolauta whether they should be published or not. The replays sure would be extreme interesting to see but it would also destroy the idea of the game.

WARNING: If you don't want to ruin the joy of attempting to beat the current World Records don't check the link below.

Elma tattoo at 1:24 EEST by Abula

Elma is my greatest passion and a full-time hobby so why not give some more everlasting appreciation? I haven't heard anyone having an Elma tattoo, so I visited a tattoo artist and took one. I hope I'm the first one (and therefore unique) but if there is someone else with an Elma related tattoo please report.

Take a look at my new tattoo, what do you like? Would be nice to hear comments and opinions... maybe someone else could follow? Maybe a smaller one like killer in shoulder?
